Kuwait- Morocco's Chefchaouen hosts cartoon forum

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RABAT, July 21 (KUNA) -- The Moroccan city of Chefchaouen is playing host to a cartoon and media forum, with a constellation of media, cultural, art and political figures attending.
The 10th version of the Moroccan cultural event, better known as Chefchaouen Forum, is considered a good occasion for the participants to establish the concept of freedom while addressing social issues and affairs.
It is further an annual chance for public discussions on an array of literary and scientific problems and subjects.
The event, which kick-started on Friday, brought literary criticism back to the surface as cartoon has already gained a special position in the media realm.
As an art of satire and humor in a mostly realistic manner, cartoon used to act as a second art before the 18th century purposed to promote the freedom of expression in an unusual mode.
Cartoon plays a key part in the formation of public awareness about a diverse array of political, cultural and social issues and matters.
The annual forum features a range of various activities pertinent to cartoon, mainly seminars and a mass caricature show. (end) jn.mt
