Iraqi protesters demand jobs, improved services in tense rally


(MENAFN) Baghdad and southern provinces in Iraq have been erupted with a massive march, with people calling for jobs and improved basic services.

The furious protesters have rallied in Baghdad in Tahrir Square while holding up Iraqi flags, raising their demands.

The dozens of protesters have demanded electricity, drinking water, health care services and jobs, along with accountability of corruption.

Iraqi security forces have beefed up their presence at the protest while the riot police blocked the nearby bridge to stop the protesters from crossing the heavily fortified Green Zone.
