Afghanistan: 11 journalists die in six months


(MENAFN) An independent media safety group declared that 11 Afghan reporters and media staff members have died in the first six months of 2018 amid deteriorating security.

Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) confirmed: "The first six months of 2018 was the bloodiest reporting period for journalists and the media community in Afghanistan,".

"Within these first six months, AJSC recorded 89 cases of violence and intimidation against journalists and media workers, 11 of which involved the killing of journalists,".

All of the reporters died in a direct way during the period of time.
