(MENAFN) Mongolian officials declared that 48 people have died in heavy flooding in Mongolia, as rain in the western Bayan-Ulgii Province influenced over 2,500 people.
The deputy chief of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Brigadier General Gombojav Ariunbuyan confirmed that at last 600 people from 185 households have been displaced and were placed in emergency shelters in eight areas in the province.
The meteorological institute alerted that the water levels in main rivers in the western, northern and central sections of the country had increased to threatening levels.
