Maldives sees decline in communicable diseases spread in June


(MENAFN) Maldives has recorded a decline in the rate of communicable diseases by June after a rise in dengue, flu, viral fever and influenza patients, as unveiled the Health Protection Agency Wednesday.

The Health Protection Agency reportedly advised earlier the public to take necessary precautions against the spread of these diseases and seek urgent medical care.

The influenza virus was said to have caused the death of a person, with hundreds were treated for viral fever and flu in the Maldives since January.

In May, up to 620 cases of dengue fever have been documented, declining to 385 cases in June.
