Oman- Public Authority for Consumer Protection holds inspection campaigns in Rustaq


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP), represented by the Department of Consumer Protection in the South Batinah governorate carried out intensive inspection campaigns in shops and industrial areas in Rustaq.

Saud bin Ali al Hamrashdi, head of the Market Regulation and Control Department, said the campaigns were carried out to make sure that shops, cafés and restaurants comply with the laws and regulations, in addition to making sure the prices of goods and services provided to consumers are uniform.

He added that mining, lathing, blacksmithing, aluminium shops and car repair and tyre shops were visited as part of the inspection campaigns.

Business establishments were told about the need to give invoices to consumers, besides ensuring that the warranty period of goods and services is provided to consumers.

Some information materials and posters were distributed to create awareness among shopkeepers.

These intensive inspections come as part of the role of the authority in creating awareness and education among suppliers and consumers alike, and to protect the rights of all.
