Tunisia Would Welcome a Joint Maghreb Bid to Host 2030 World Cup

The President of the Tunisian Football Federation (FTF), Wadie Jary, told BBC on Thursday that his country is open to the idea.

'We have not received any official offers, but we are open to this idea and we would like that to happen,' he said.

The Tunisian official's remarks came a few days after Algerian Minister of Youth and Sports Mohamed Hattab said that 'with the sports infrastructure that was built, Algeria is ready to study a possible joint bid' with Morocco and Tunisia to organize the .

Tunisia and Algeria were among the 65 countries that voted for Morocco to host the 2026 World Cup. Morocco, however, lost the hosting rights to the FIFA 2026 World Cup to the joint North American United 2026 bid, which won 134 votes.
