(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Ministry of Culture and Sports hosted on Thursday evening a Chinese-Qatari traditional arts and sports show in co-operation with the Chinese embassy in Qatar.
The event was held at Qatar National Theatre as part of the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Qatar and China.
HE the Minister of Culture and Sports Salah bin Ghanem bin Nasser al-Ali and the Chinese ambassador Li Chen attended the event along with a number of Qatari officials, heads of diplomatic missions and other guests.
The event saw a big turnout of spectators, who enjoyed the performance by the Shaolin Kungfu Monk Corps. The Wushu show covered various aspects of Chinese martial arts, and the participants enthralled the audience with a mesmerising performance on stage.
Also during the event, a Qatari folk troupe presented a traditional sward dance as well as national folk songs.
Ambassador Chen stressed the depth of good relations between the two countries. He also said the Qatar-China 2016 Year of Culture was highly successful and featured a number of events.
