Nigeria: cholera leaves three student dead, 27 in hospital


(MENAFN) Local authorities declared that three school students have died as 27 more were taken to hospitals in the latest cholera spread in Nigeria, Africa's most populous country.

Health commissioner Kennedy Ishaya confirmed that the spread in the northeastern state of Gombe has been restrained for the moment.

Ishaya added that the victims, all student of a local Islamic school in Gombe, have been given treatments without any costs from the government, as they have been receiving sufficient drug.

The spread of the fatal disease is common in Nigeria for the bad statues of water supplies, particularly in over populated areas.
