Hajj Observing Committee condemns Saudi ban on Syrians, Qataris

(MENAFN) The International Committee for Observing Hajj Administration has condemned Saudi Arabia's ban on Qatari and Syrian citizens performing the pilgrimage, Echoroukonline.com reported on Friday.

Saying that this ban is against Shari'ah, the committee said that this ban also violates international laws.

The Syrians have been forbidden from performing Hajj for seven years, and the Qataris for the second year, for purely political reasons.

The committee urged the participation of other organizations and Islamic governments in administering the Hajj given Riyadh's alleged lack of transparency in the role.
