Cuban president urges further efforts for foreign investments

(MENAFN) Cuba's President Miguel Diaz-Canel has reportedly urged the Cuban government to "do more to encourage foreign investment" to ensure the country sees an economic boost.

The statement has been made by the Cuban president at a meeting which took place earlier this week, marking his third meeting of this nature since his inauguration in April.

President Diaz-Canel stressed during the meeting that "we have to be creative and take chances, without affecting our sovereignty."

The Cabinet has approved to review on a monthly basis all "exports and business transactions with foreign investors, as well as the management and execution of external loans," as said in an official statement issued after the meeting.
