Myanmar: six people die in landslide


(MENAFN) The official Global New Light of Myanmar declared that six people have died in a landslide in Phakant, Myanmar's Kachin state, which struck the staff quarters of the Township Development Affairs Committee.

The Information and Public Relations Department confirmed that the landslide took place close to Pantin Bridge, Maw-wan Ward as heavy downpour triggered a creek to flood and drowned the ground.

The landslide has reached another three villages, Mawgalon, Sutaung and Phapyin as well.

Local authorities have launched probes into the incident.
