Pakistan- Passersby killed in crossfire between ANP, PTI in Swabi

(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) SWABI: A passerby was shot dead on Friday in cross fire between supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Awami National Party in Swabi district on Friday.

The police said that PTI workers organised a party convention last night and installed a sound system to address crowed. They have placed one of the loudspeakers on roof of a house owned by ANP supporter.

The ANP supporter protested and asked them to remove the loudspeaker which led to exchange of harsh words between the two sides. However the issue was resolved after local elders interfered.

Both parties on Friday exchanged harsh words after they came across again and later opened firing on each other. As a result, two persons including an ANP worker and a passerby were injured and latter died on way to hospital.

The police registered a case against PTI workers and started investigation. It merits a mention here that Jamaat-e-Islami supporters stoned a person to death in Mohmand Agency the other day.
