Pakistan- No difficulty in running election campaign in tribal districts: Hoti

(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) MARDAN: The Awami National Party (ANP) provincial president Amir Haider Khan Hoti Friday said there is no difficulty in running the election campaign in the tribal districts.

Addressing a party gathering in Mardan, the ANP leader said it would have been better if the provincial elections were also held in the Fata districts along with the rest of country on 25 July. He said such an arrangement would have ensured representation of the tribal districts in the provincial assembly. He said it is the responsibility of the government to ensure rule of law in the tribal areas during elections.

Mr Hoti made it clear that the ANP will not enter into electoral alliance with any party. He said the ANP was on the target of terrorists during the last elections, due to which it could not run its election campaign. However, he said, the issue has been tackled now and the ANP will bring better results during the upcoming elections.

The ANP leader criticised the provincial election commission and said it should treat every party equally. He said it is the responsibility of the Election Commission to ensure implementation of election rules.
