UAE, South Africa ink space exploration agreement


(MENAFN) A memorandum of understanding has been signed between the UAE Space Agency and the South Africa National Space Agency (Sansa).

The MoU, signed on the sidelines of UNISPACE +50, aim for outlining a framework for cooperation in the peaceful exploration and use of outer space.

The agreement targets the organization and exchange of information, data, expertise, laws and regulations among other goals, along with supporting human capital development plans.

"This agreement is another affirmation of the UAE's commitment to collaborating in the peaceful exploration and use of outer space, as well as the advanced sciences and technologies related to these activities," the UAE Space Agency's chairman Dr Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi said.

Dr Al Falasi added "our international collaboration in this field has taken a number of difference forms, having established formal agreements with many space agencies and organizations. The principle that unites them is our commitment to developing joint goals around performing a leading role in shaping the future of the space sector."
