Hungary does not oppose Poroshenko's participation in Black Sea security meeting at NATO summit

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Hungary does not oppose the participation of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in the meeting on the Black Sea security within the framework of the NATO summit in July.

Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártósaid this at a press conference upon the first round of the meeting of the Ukrainian-Hungarian high-level working group, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"The decision of the Hungarian government is unequivocal. The Venice Commission made its recommendations, and we will support Ukraine in NATO after these recommendations are implemented. However, a few weeks ago I met in Washington with [U.S. Secretary of State] Mr. Pompeo and told him that we had nothing against inviting the President of Ukraine to the meeting on the Black Sea security within the framework of the NATO summit in July," Szijjártó said.

He added that "thus your president will be invited to this event."

As reported, Hungary as a member of the Alliance blocks holding of a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Commission at the highest level over adoption of the education law in Ukraine.
