Lucknow, Jun 22 (KNN) During the networking meet of MSME entrepreneurs of Uttar Pradesh and Bangladesh, organized by Indian Industries Association (IIA), the members explored huge possibilities to invest in both the countries across many sectors.

A delegation of 10 Industry representatives of National Association of Small & Cottage Industries of Bangladesh (NASCIB) arrived in the city for a three-day interaction with the members of IIA in Lucknow & Kanpur.

The NASCIB delegation was led by its President Mirza Nurul Ghani Shovon.

B2B meeting was organized between IIA Member Industries from Lucknow, Barabanki, Unnao and Amethi.

IIA President Sunil Vaish, in his welcome address, said, 'The first phase of this interaction has started from Lucknow. As many as 8.999 Million MSME's are operative in Uttar Pradesh as on date and this number is almost equal to the number of MSME's in Bangladesh.

Vaish said that South Asia also known as Indian subcontinent though comprises of only eight countries i.e. Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka yet this subcontinent is having one fourth of the world's population.

'Hence the subcontinent has a huge consumer base for consumption of products & services produced by MSME's. It was therefore necessary to have interactions between MSMEs of the SAARC. Keeping this in mind, IIA have signed MOU's with MSME Associations in Bangladesh and Nepal to start with, he said.

NASCIB President Mirza Nurul Ghani Shovon in his address during the networking meeting said Government of Bangladesh is developing 100 exclusive economic zones in the country where Indian businessmen have better opportunities to set up industrial units by themselves or through joint ventures.

He assured to extend all possible help to IIA members willing to invest in these economic zones.

Shovon further offered the services of his association to solve any of the problems coming in the way of doing business in Bangladesh by IIA Members.

He further said that the two Governments have co-cordial relations as on date hence there is a better atmosphere for initiating business ties. Large number of products from India can be exported to Bangladesh and vise versa.

Delegates from Bangladesh expressed their business interests in the field of spare metal parts, foundry items, electrical parts, plastic molds, leather molds, metal molds and other engineering products.

IIA delegates have expressed their interests in export of other MSME Products also for which IIA & NASCIB will explore the possibilities in future. During the B-2-B interaction 40 members of IIA had one to one discussion with the delegates of Bangladesh. (KNN Bureau)
