Turkey to accept major offshore wind farm bids till Oct 23


(MENAFN) The Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources was confirmed to have chosen October 23rd to be the deadline for receiving applications for a 1,200-megawatt (MW) offshore wind plant.

The Renewable Energy General Directorate of the Ministry is set to begin its assessment of applications on the same day and is to notify applicants about the date and place of tender, the Official Gazette declared Wednesday.

The announcement also explained that the applicants are to be allowed to create a consortium to attend.

The ceiling price for one megawatt-hour was decided to be USD8, with applicants set to compete for the lowest bid in a reverse auction.
