(MENAFN) Mohammad Aref Nuri, spokesman for provincial government declared that over 20 militants and three security personnel have died as the Taliban's efforts to claim control over Jaghato district in Afghanistan's eastern Ghazni province, failed.
The official added that the Taliban militants carried out massive attack on security checkpoints in Jaghato district, as security forces fired back, militants escaped leaving 20 bodies behind and ten more wounded.
Nuri confirmed that four security personnel have been hurt as well in the battle.
The government forces are to resume seeking the militants in different locations in the unrest district to secure law and order in Jaghato and surrounding areas, according to the official.
