(MENAFN) Israel has been ranked as one of the five leading countries in the area of cyber security, as announced Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Eight years ago, the government set out a target to become one of the top five leading countries in cyber security, the Israeli prime minister said, adding "we have achieved this goal and even surpassed it."
Prime Minister Netanyahu noted during a cyber conference in the Tel Aviv University that the Israeli cyber security industry recorded last year an export at a worth of USD3.8 billion.
Netanyahu added "there are about 420 Israeli cyber companies, 50 development centers of international companies, and Israeli academia represents about 10 percent of the world's research."
