Egyptian held by Kuwait police for attempted rape of Filipina

(MENAFN- Asia Times) An Egyptian man has been taken into police custody for allegedly attempting to rape a Filipino woman in Kuwait.

According to the Filipina, she and the 40-year-old man shared an apartment but had their own rooms. She said the man suddenly barged into her room and tried to have sex with her, Arab Times reported.

The Filipina tried to kick him out of her room, but the man allegedly assaulted her. She then filed a complaint to the police and submitted a medical report to support her claims.

The man was summoned for interrogation, but denied the Filipina's allegations. He said he and the Filipina had an argument.

On Monday, the Jahra Public Prosecution remanded the man to police custody for attempted rape.
