OxygenOS 5.1.8: An important update for OnePlus 6 Indian users

Last week, OnePlus released OxygenOS 5.1.7 to patch the bootloader vulnerability - a flaw that allowed attackers to bypass bootloader protection and install a modified firmware image.
However, the OS wasn't rolled-out to Indian users. But now, especially for OnePlus 6 Indian users, the company is releasing OxygenOS 5.1.8 to bring all the features of OxygenOS 5.1.7 update along with fresh optimizations.

Important update
According to the changelog, the OxygenOS 5.1.8 update for the OnePlus 6 brings all the features of OxygenOS 5.1.7 including scheduled setting issue for Do Not Disturb (DND) mode, updated bootloader for system security enhancement, general bug fixes and improvements.
This latest firmware also brings some optimizations related to call quality and fixes system stability issues.
The update roll-out will happen in an incremental fashion

The update will happen in a phased manner. This means it will first be rolled-out to a small batch of users and gradually other users will receive it in a few days time. To manually check the update's availability, go to Settings > System updates.
OnePlus 6 has had its share of OS woes

Like many flagship smartphones, OnePlus 6 has had some initial woes. However, OnePlus has been pretty quick to come up with fixes and responses.
Last month, the company hosted a Q&A session with its fans and promised to fix the broader issues.
And soon, the company released OxygenOS 5.1.6 to bring a selfie portrait mode and fixes for the issues highlighted by the users.
