Oman: Cyclone Mekunu fatality number reaches six


(MENAFN) The number of fatalities of Cyclone Mekunu in Oman has reached six.

The Royal Oman Police declared that another two Omanis, who couldn't control their vehicle in flooding, have died after the Cyclone Mekunu struck Salalah, Oman's third-largest city over the weekend.

The National Committee for Civil Defense had confirmed the death of four other people earlier.

The cyclone hit mainland Oman and Yemen, pouring some three years' worth of rain on Salalah in one day.
