(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Eshraqa team from the Khimji Ramdas social development arm recently visited Izki at the Wali's office for a formal donation of 207 smart 4K LED televisions, where 175 TVs were given to seven government schools in Izki and the other 32 through Izki Women Association for children activity corners.
The aim of this initiative is to enhance education development specifically for children at the school level across the governorate, under one of Eshraqa's founding pillars - Education.
The event team accompanied by Nailesh Khimji, director of Khimji Ramdas, and Eshraqa members, met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Shihab bin Hamed al Balushi, Wali of Izki, to deliver the TVs on behalf of the company and reiterate their support for education in local communities.
Khimji said, 'This visit is part of our vision to empower students and support the efforts of local educators to deliver education that will positively contribute to the future of local youth and strengthen the sultanate through human capital investments.
Under our core pillar focusing on CSR and education, 'Eshraqa Learns' seeks to provide access to the means required for greater opportunities for capacity building, skill development and academic attainment as an essential foundation for us improving the quality of our lives.'
Balushi said, 'We thank Khimji Ramdas' Eshraqa for their commitment to the development of local communities and initiating positive engagement for the growth and progress of our nation.
'This initiative will help improve the school's facilities and will undoubtedly benefit students, faculty and the community as a whole.'
The 175 TVs were donated to the seven schools in Izki: Awas bin Thabit, Labid bin Rabia, Al Azhar al Azkawi, Al Qalah, Al Thuraya, Al Mawahib and Murtafa'at. Thirty-two TVs were donated to Imti children activity corner, Qalat al Awamer children activity corner and women association activity corner.
As a body focused on community well-being in multiple capacities, Eshraqa believes that education is a key ingredient for economic sustainability, society and environmental excellence. Under the core pillar of 'Eshraqa Learns' the team has delivered a broad range of initiatives across Oman, including scholarships and infrastructural support to government schools.
Amongst its donations, Eshraqa has recently provided 13 sunshades to schools in Muscat and Samail, in addition to 118 smart TVs, 184 surveillance cameras and three artificial playgrounds with turf.
