QFC launches 'One Family' workshops to empower community

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) is hosting a series of workshops during the holy month of Ramadan aimed at engaging and empowering members of the Qatarcommunity.
The workshops come as part of the ‘One Family' initiative and the QFC's ‘Road to Humanity' Ramadan campaign, which aim to enhance skills within the community, while empowering and uplifting the community's spirit.
During the first week of Ramadan, one of QFC's talented comic illustrators delivered a workshop to a number of enthusiastic children from Dreama.
The event provided children with a unique opportunity to learn a new set of skills and produce artwork within a fun-filled interactive environment.
Sarah al-Dorani, acting chief marketing and corporate communications officer, QFC Authority, said: 'The QFC's ‘One Family' initiative recognises that together we are all one community, and it is our responsibility to help others and share our talents for a stronger, enlightened society. Initiatives like this are essential in enhancing community members' access to opportunities and empowering them over the long term.
'The first ‘One Family' workshop with Dreama children was an emotionally enriching experience for our staff that also helped lift the children's spirits as they used their imagination and creative expression in a fun supportive environment.
Noor al-Muhanadi, director of communications, Dreama, said: 'The initiative reflects the commitment of Qatar Financial Centre to its ethical, social, and environmental responsibilities within the framework of its ‘CSR & Social Investment' strategy ‘United for Good'.
'Dreama and QFC have already collaborated on a number of initiatives. The event represents the beginning of a series of future initiatives aimed at empowering orphans and offering them the opportunity to engage in various programmes. These programmes will enable orphans to acquire new skills that bring added value and a morale boost on the psychological and social level.
Dreama is a leading centre for orphan care and integration. In line with Qatar Foundation's social development mission, Dreama contributes to providing the necessary care for target groups in Qatar, seeking to integrate orphans into foster families and society. The centre is committed to promoting the values of responsibility, privacy, equality, and participation.
The QFC CSR & Social Investment strategy, ‘United for Good', underscores its commitment to its ethical, social and environmental responsibilities. One of the CSR's main pillars at QFC is community development that entails focusing on the inclusion of all members of society. QFC's CSR & Social Investment strategy also focuses on youth and education to help build a new generation of leaders.
