(MENAFN) FIFA must now lift a ban imposed on former UEFA president Michel Platini after Swiss prosecutors did not discover any proof for the controversial 1.8-million-euro payment.
During a phone interview with AFP, the former UEFA president said "I hope that FIFA will have the courage and the decency to lift my suspension."
However, the Swiss public prosecutor's office declared that the probe "is not completely over" even though no evidence was found "so far" to incriminate Platini.
Platini then stressed "my legal advisers will take all the necessary measures to ensure the FIFA suspension is lifted."
