Minor earthquake startles SW Iran


(MENAFN) IRNA declared that an earthquake of a 4.1magnitude has rattled Mianroud in southwestern Province of Khuzestan.

The Seismological Center of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University confirmed that the quake took place at 6:09 hours local time (1:39 GMT) in an area placed at 32.26 degrees latitude and 48.42 degrees longitude and 25 km deep into the ground.

The quake's epicenter was recorded at 4 km of Mianroud, 13 km of Chogha Mish and 14 km of Dezful.

Iran is located on prominent fault lines as its familiar with daily earthquakes.
