China, Burkina Faso sign deal to set up diplomatic relations


(MENAFN) China and Burkina Faso were confirmed to have inked a deal to create diplomatic ties, following a boycott against Taiwan.

AFP reported Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to have signed the agreement with Foreign Minister Alpha Barry in Beijing.

Burkina Faso established in the communique that "there is only one China in the world," Wang stated in an address following the signing ceremony.

Wang added that "the Burkina Faso government is following the trend of the times and made the right political decision."
