(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, May 26 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) has announced that its seasonal blood drive will begin on Sunday, in conjunction with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and Kuwait Central Blood Bank.
The campaign aims to encourage citizens and residents alike to donate blood during the holiest month of the year to ensure sufficient blood supply, the venerable Kuwaiti charity's chairman Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer told KUNA on Saturday.
He hailed the endeavor as an altruistic act and a humanitarian obligation given the fact that a number of hospitals across the nation suffer from a dearth of blood supply.
Al-Sayer emphasized that KRCS is eager to save humanity by any means necessary, pointing out that the blood drive will take place tomorrow at the charity's headquarters from 8:00 pm to 1:00 am. (end) zak.nam
