Sesame Street strikes The Happytime Murders with lawsuit

(MENAFN) The maker of Sesame Street has hit The Happytime Murders with a lawsuit for abusing the reputation of its puppets, condemning the film as "explicit, profane and misogynistic".

The movie presents "explicit, profane, drug-using, misogynistic, violent, copulating" content that might damage the children's TV show, the lawsuit said.

"We're incredibly pleased with the early reaction to the film and how well the trailer has been received by its intended audience," the producers of The Happytime Murders said.

The producers added "while we're disappointed that Sesame Street does not share in the fun, we are confident in our legal position."
