Lebanon's PM: gov't must have national consensus


(MENAFN) On Friday, Lebanese Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri stated that the new government wished is one of national consensus, adding that rotation in cabinet portfolios is required in order to overcome political sectarianism in the country, NNA reported.

"We want a government that is based on national consensus with regards to broad headlines and even on certain details, and we are working in the same positive spirit as we did during the past year and a half...and I am sure we can accomplish a lot," Hariri asserted.

The PM-designate pinned huge importance on working to boost Lebanon's economy and providing employment opportunities for young Lebanese men and women, referring herein to the "historic opportunity to implement the Cedar Conference recommendations."

"We all want a rapid cabinet formation for the benefit of Lebanon and the Lebanese. The challenges are great in the country, both economically and regionally," he stressed.

Hariri's words came during his traditional visits today to former Prime Ministers, after being commissioned to form the new cabinet.
