AU warns of excessive corruption on gains

(MENAFN) High levels of corruption seen in Africa are negatively affecting profits, African Union (AU) Chairman Moussa Faki Mahamat warned.

Even though AU accomplished a major triumph through the recently-ratified African Continental Free Trade Area and the development of a single aviation market, the gains are facing risks.

The AU chairman emphasized that "the fight against corruption is of crucial importance" in the continent.

H added "despite the global downturn, several African countries are the world's fastest growing economies."
