John Abraham and Diana Penty starrer 'Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran' has taken a decent start at the box office.

The film that received a thumbs up from most of the critics, raked in Rs. 4.82 crore on day one.

However, the first-day business of 'Parmanu' got affected by the Qualifier 2 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) yesterday.

In a recent interview, John said that it does not really matter how much money 'Parmanu' makes. He is more than happy that it has finally hit the screens.

"Whether this film does one rupee or hundred rupees, it really doesn't matter. I am just happy that it's releasing. But more important than that, it's a true story," he said.

The Abhishek Sharma directorial was originally slated to release in December last year but the differences between John's JA Entertainment and Prernaa Arora's KriArj Entertainment didn't let the film to make it to the theatres on time.

After a series of allegations and legal notices from both the sides, John's banner was finally granted the film's rights.


Meanwhile, 'Raazi', '102 Not Out' continue to shine

'Raazi' and '102 Not Out' have been dominating the box office till now. While Alia Bhatt starrer is speeding towards the coveted Rs. 100 crore mark (Rs. 93.88 crore), Amitabh Bachchan-Rishi Kapoor's film has neared the Rs. 50 crore mark (Rs. 48.42 crore).
