Vicky Kaushal getting trained by Indian Army personnel for 'Uri'

Vicky Kaushal, after the phenomenal success of 'Raazi', has moved on to his next film titled 'Uri'.

Based on Indian Army's surgical strike in September 2016 in Uri, the film has Vicky playing a Para Commando in the Special Forces.

As per a media report, the Indian Army has extended training support to Vicky and other cast members.


'Uri' will go on floors in June

The report further stated that Vicky and other actors are currently being trained by Captains and Majors at Mumbai's Navy Nagar. They are learning various drills of the armed forces such as slithering, using arms and ammunition, among others.

Soon, the team of 'Uri' will take off to Serbia for a two-month long schedule.

Talking about the film and his character, Vicky said in a press statement, "When this film came to me, I was really kicked about it because this is one story that I feel that everyone needs to know."

"One of the fantastic operations that the Indian army has conducted. I feel it is a great opportunity and also a big responsibility," he added.


The film is slated for a September release

Also starring Yami Gautam, 'Uri' is being helmed by debutant director Aditya Dhar, who had won a National Award for his short film titled 'Boond'. Backed by Ronnie Screwvala, 'Uri' is expected to hit the screens in September.
