(MENAFN- Bangladesh Monitor) Dhaka : Shahid Hamid, FIH, Executive Director of Regency Hotel and Resorts has been elected as Executive Board Member of Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA).
For the first time, Bangladesh has been elected to the prestigious position in 67 years history of PATA.
The election was held at the 67th Annual General Meeting and Board Meeting of PATA in Gangneung, South Korea, also host of 2018 Winter Olympics.
PATA consists of 12 Executive Board Members, and is the highest decision making body of PATA.
Hamid, also served as PATA Board member for two consecutive terms of 2014-2016 and 2016-2018 and is currently Chairman of PATA Bangladesh Chapter.
He is well known personality in Bangladesh, who has recently completed four decades of chequered career in hospitality industry.
