Turkey will help Uzbekistan reform its pension system, according to an agreement reached between Deputy Minister of Finance of Uzbekistan Dilshod Sattarova and Chairman of the Social Security Institution of Turkey Cevdet Ceylan, Sputnik Uzbekistan reported.

"An agreement was reached on mutual cooperation and the creation of a special working group on pension system reform," the message said.

Specialists from Uzbekistan also passed a special course at the training center of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Ankara on the impact of the shadow economy on the revenue side of the state budget. The ministry plans that such training courses and exchange of experience will be held during 2018 for about 600 representatives of the Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan.

In April, the Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan unveiled the draft concept of pension reform, which provides for a phased increase in the retirement age in the country to the world average. Now men can retire at the age of 60 years, and women - at 55 years.
