Shanghai now boasts the most robotic makers

(MENAFN- Asia Times) Shanghai has become the major focus of China's robotic industry and with the support of a series of policies, market players will likely continue to concentrate on the city,

Currently, there are nearly 100 robot-related companies in Shanghai, including large multinational corporations, domestic leading companies and local Shanghai firms.

ABB, Yaskawa and other foreign robot giants regard Shanghai as the stepping stone to occupy the Chinese robot market. Domestic market leaders such as Siasun Robot and Step Electric use Shanghai as a bridgehead to set up factories or branches.

In 2017, the output value of Shanghai's entire robotic industry increased by 98% from a year earlier, accounting for 40% of the country's total output.

Needless to say, the robotics industry is rapidly becoming a new growth point in Shanghai's industrial transformation and upgrading.
