Customs officers prevent illegal transportation of explosives from Russia to Azerbaijan

A violation was revealed while transporting industrial explosives from Russia to Azerbaijan, North Caucasus Customs Administration said May 23.

Customs officers revealed a violation at the Derbent railway station, when carrier was trying to transport a car with industrial explosives (ammonite powder).

The carrier specified in the declaration the weight of the goods as 8 tons. During the verification of the information it was found out, that the weight of a cargo actually made 8 tons and 167,2 kgs. That is, part of the explosives was supposed to be transported without customs clearance.

"Illegally moved goods were taken and sent for examination. An administrative violation case was initiated upon this fact", customs department said.
