Uzbekistan planning to open over 40 cinemas in next two years

Uzbekistan is planning to create a network of modern cinemas in 2018-2019, Uzbek media reported on May 23 citing the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers.

According to the decree, a total of 49 cinemas will be built in the country in 2018-2019, with 25 of them being one-story, 12 two-story and 12 open.

Two cinemas will be opened in Karakalpakstan, the Jizzakh region and Tashkent, six cinemas in the Andijan region, five in Bukhara and Khorezm regions, four in Kashkadarya, Fergana and Namangan regions, three in Navoi, Samarkand, Syrdarya, Surkhandarya and Tashkent regions.

Uzbekkino national agency together with the National Bank of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Construction and UzshaharsozlikLITI has started development of standard two-hall cinemas for modern and retro films, as well as summer.

Construction customers are instructed to create the necessary infrastructure, including opening parking spaces, equipping the territory with modern amenities, and installing fire safety systems and video surveillance cameras to ensure the safety of cinemas.
