(MENAFN) Facebook's chief Mark Zuckerberg has delivered an official apology to lawmakers in the European Parliament over the scandalous data leak.
Zuckerberg apologized during a meeting of EU leaders in Brussels for not implementing sufficient measures to avoid such an incident.
The social media network's CEO and founder stated "we haven't done enough to prevent the tools we've built from being used for harm as well."
He added "whether it's fake news, foreign interference in elections or developers misusing people's information, we didn't take a broad enough view of our responsibilities. That was a mistake, and I'm sorry."
