Sudan eyes 31 million barrels in oil production

(MENAFN) Sudan's cabinet has reached a decision to target a boost in oil production to reach 31 million barrels in 2018 along with increasing revenues to USD1 billion.

The Sudanese cabinet's spokesman Omar Mohammed Saleh noted that crude oil production in the country is forecast for an increase to around 11 million barrels this year and a boost 17.1 million barrels by 2020.

Last February, the country was declared to have seen an increase in its oil reserves, reaching 165 million barrels following a test of the first well in the Rawat field.

As a result of worker efforts in the fields, the current exploration field boosts the capacity of the production to stand at 40,000 barrels per day.
