(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Jebal Sifah is calling all Omani artists to participate in the destination's marina mural art project. In collaboration with specialist Omani interior design firm, M Décor, the aim of the project is to enhance the welcoming experience of seafarers as they make their way into the Jebel Sifah Marina.
The initiative, which will transform the entry of the marina, offers Omani artists a platform to showcase their art with a chance to win an award of OMR 2,500. The deadline for applications is the 7th of June 2018.
Maha Al Lamki, Owner of MCO, said, 'My focus has always been to contribute to the growth of Oman. There is an overwhelming amount of talent amongst our youth and it is time to remove the curtain and facilitate a space for them to flourish. Through this mural project, artists will have a chance to create artwork, reflective of Omani marine life that will be on display for all those entering the Jebel Sifah Marina.'
The mural project, which is open exclusively to Omani artists, will be painted on one wall of the entrance of the marina, with the dimensions of 20 metres by 3 metres. Applicants will be required to create their concept of the mural, which could be submitted as a sketch drawing or digital mock-up, with visuals relating to Oman's marina and sea life. Colour guidelines include shades of blue, white, red, grey, chrome and any additional suggestions made by the artist. Artists will be required to present an explanation of the artwork in terms of composition and materials used, bearing in mind that the mural should be able to withstand the weather and external influences. Applicants can visit the Jebel Sifah Facebook and Instagram pages to apply online. The winning artist will be announced by 21st June 2018.
