Rafael Nadal makes return to top world rankings

(MENAFN) Spanish tennis Rafael Nadal has earned his eight Italian Open title at the weekend, bouncing back to the top charts.

The tennis icon has won 6-1, 1-6, 6-3 over German Alexander Zverev in Rome on Sunday, granting him the privilege to anticipate a world number one status before the French Open starts.

Following his win at the Foro Italico, the 31-year-old professional athlete commented "everything will be different in Paris."

Nadal added "of course a win like this helps but in Paris the conditions will be different in every respect. Today is the time to enjoy this victory, not for thinking about Roland Garros."
