Joint patrols on Mekong River begins 70th mission


(MENAFN) The 70th joint patrols were announced to have been launched on Tuesday on the Mekong River with the participation of forces from China, Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand.

The joint patrols are to be consisting of 10 ships that has onboard over 160 law enforcers, leaving from Guanlei Port in Xishuangbanna.

The mission was explained to be focusing on drug trafficking along the Mekong River, with a plan to carry out random inspection of ships in waters close to sensitive regions.
