Seoul: North's dismantling not attended by journalists 'disappointing'


(MENAFN) South Korea has expressed it was disappointed by North Korea for not permitting its journalists to be present at the nuclear test site dismantle after inviting eight of them.

Seoul's Unification Minister Cho Myoung-gyon issued a statement, confirming that South Korea finds the matter "disappointing and regrettable".

News agency Yonhap reported, citing the minister "we think it is disappointing and regrettable that [the South Korean] journalists cannot visit the North due to no follow-up measures after the North's invitation."

Cho added "in spite of that, we take note of the fact that the North is pushing for the dismantling as promised and hope that it will lead to a successful summit between the North and the U.S."
