Cause of explosion on Turkish ship in Yemen disclosed

The cause of the explosion on a Turkish ship in Yemen, which occurred on May 11 this year, has been disclosed, the Turkish media outlets reported May 22.

The reports said the explosion was triggered by a rocket attack. It was also noted that the ship was fired by by rebels-Houthis.

On May 11 this year, in Yemen, near the port of Salif, an explosion occurred on the Turkish vessel transporting Russian cargo.

It was reported that the ship was transporting 50,000 tons of wheat from Russia.
