Kuwait hosts 1st meeting of GCC municipal award cmte


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, May 21 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Municipality has hosted the first meeting of the GCC Municipal Award arbitration committee, and reviewed the participating projects pertaining to the humanization of cities.
Up to 15 projects were submitted from GCC member states' municipalities, Head of the Coordination Department at Kuwait Municipality Jassem Al-Habib said in a press statement on Monday.
He added that participants presented their theses simulating the best modern systems in terms of humanization and rehabilitation of cities to keep pace with requirements of civil society.
Points considered by the meeting included sustainability of the project, suitable environment for establishing the project, health and safety issues. They also addressed social responsibility, covering the role of the government, the private sector and individuals in the success of a project.
Al-Habib revealed that the GCC Secretariat General would announce the results of the competition and the awards in a ministerial meeting due in Kuwait on October 19. (end) tms.hm
