The regional administrations of the Civil Defence have dispatched specialist awareness teams to industrial zones around the country with large numbers of workers, to raise their awareness about the appropriate prevention procedures.
Major General Jassem Mohammed Al Marzouki, Commander-General of the Civil Defence, said that the preventive awareness of community members is an important factor in saving and protecting lives and property while noting that the Civil Defence has adopted a series of general safety procedures and preventive measures in all its locations, to avoid accidents caused by negligence and lack of awareness.
He added that employers should implement general safety standards, to provide a healthy and safe working environment.
Al Marzouki stressed that the Civil Defence always issues awareness publications to various media outlets and social media, to explain the appropriate procedures to ensure the safety and protect lives, property and the nation's achievements.
The General Command of the Civil Defence also warned community members about leaving children alone in cars, even for a short period, to avoid exposing them to suffocation, and to not leave perfumes or lighters in their cars as the heat may cause them to explode while highlighting the importance of carrying sufficient amounts of drinking water.
It also called on outdoor workers to take breaks during peak hours, to prevent heat exhaustion and avoid sun exposure, especially in the afternoon.
