IPL 2018: Chennai beat Kings XI by 5 wickets
21 May 2018

Super Kings ended Kings XI's dream of qualifying for the play-offs of 2018 IPL with a 5-wicket victory in Pune.

Batting first, KXIP were dealt with early blows but Karun Nair (54) helped them to post 153.

In response, Chennai struggled a little, but in the end, Raina and Dhoni got the job done with 5 balls to spare.

Here are the important stats.

Lungi Ngidi destroys Kings XI Punjab
Brutal

Lungi Ngidi's 4/10 is the most economical four-wicket haul for Super Kings in the Indian Premier League.

Ashish Nehra had also achieved the same figures for CSK against RCB in 2015

Dwayne Bravo is now CSK's leading wicket-taker with 90 scalps to his name.

Bravo shares this record with former CSK player and Punjab skipper Ravichandran Ashwin.

Karun Nair's knock goes in vain
Lone warrior

Karun Nair has now scored 50+ scores in KXIP's first and last game of the league phase.

However, he failed to score a half-century in any of the other 12 matches.

This is the first time in this edition of the IPL that KL Rahul was dismissed for a single digit score.

Rahul could manage to score only 7 runs today.

MS Dhoni sets a new record with the gloves
Best in the world

MS Dhoni has now effected the most number of dismissals in T20 cricket with 216 scalps under his belt.

Pakistan's Kamran Akmal is second with 215 and Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakkara comes third with 202 dismissals.

MS Dhoni also reached the 4,000 run landmark in the IPL. Dhoni is only the 7th cricketer to reach this milestone.

CSK are placed second, will play SRH
Interesting

Tonight's victory against Kings XI Punjab ensured CSK's second place in the points table.

In the last 10 editions of the IPL, the team finishing second have gone on to lift the trophy on 5 occasions.

The table toppers have lifted the trophy just twice.

So who will it be in the 11th edition of the IPL?
