North Korea demands return of abducted women

(MENAFN) North Korea has called for the repatriation of North Korean women who are believed to have been kidnapped two years ago by South Korean intelligence.

The demand was explained to be a precondition for a plan to carry out the part of humanitarian issues in the joint declaration which Korean leaders made a month ago during their summit.

The statement has been made by a spokesman for the Central Committee of the Red Cross Society of the DPRK as reported the Korean Central News Agency.

The spokesman stated "those women citizens of the DPRK were proven to have been forcibly abducted by the puppet Intelligence Service by interviews of a criminal involved in the case and victims."

He also held South Korean authorities responsible for "adopting an unequivocal stance to shun the demand of the public at home and abroad."
